            Bug ID: 41014
Summary: libomp5-9 should conflict with libomp5-7
           Product: Packaging
           Version: unspecified
          Hardware: PC
                OS: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: P
         Component: deb packages
          Assignee: unassignedbugs at nondot.org
          Reporter: gjasny at googlemail.com
                CC: llvm-bugs at lists.llvm.org

Hello,

I just tried installing clang-9 next to clang-7 and dpkg complained about filed
that would be overwritten:

Unpacking libomp5-9:amd64
(1:9~svn354959-1~exp1+0~20190227105110.828~1.gbpd90386) ...
dpkg: error processing archive
/tmp/apt-dpkg-install-mmtU1M/4-libomp5-9_1%3a9~svn354959-1~exp1+0~20190227105110.828~1.gbpd90386_amd64.deb
(--unpack):
trying to overwrite '/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libomp.so.5', which is also in
package libomp5-7:amd64 1:7-3~ubuntu0.18.04.1

I know that you stated in bug 38681 that those packages will not be
co-installable but maybe you can make them conflict so that they are not
automatically installed?

Thanks,
Gregor
