Sorry, but I find this stack, especially the refactoring part, unreviewable and would suggest to restructure the series to first move things from GVN.h to GVN.cpp (which I think is beneficial), drop the reordering of functions (which I think is not), and then this PR (whose benefits I didn't assess).
