Pushed as a separate commit. Two of the three comments dropped outright and the overflow test renamed per @FedericoBruzzone's suggestion; the negative-index one is trimmed to two lines rather than removed, reasoning in the thread. Tests only, full `canonicalize.mlir` passes locally.
