+1 - I made the same change downstream and was looking to upstream it, but you beat me to it. Will you also do this for the “whitelist_fun” line prefix?

Subject: [EXTERNAL] [llvm-dev] [RFC] [llvm-cov] Renaming option -name-whitelist to -name-allowlist in llvm-cov

Hi all,

I have recently been working on a few inclusive language patches. One such patch: https://reviews.llvm.org/D112816 proposes to change the option name for llvm-cov from -name-whitelist to -name-allowlist.

Following up on the reviewer comment: https://reviews.llvm.org/D112816#3103937, I plan to mark the -name-whitelist as a hidden option with comments in its description stating it will be deprecated and replaced with -name-allowlist in a future release.

Looking for feedback on this proposal.

Thanks,

Zarko
