Glad you were able to find the issue. I do understand that software,
especially compilers, can be extremely (and sometimes subtly) complicated,
and very often the culprit of a bug is not the real root cause, but rather
something that surfaces a bug elsewhere. I hope it didn't come across that
I was implying this patch was the true blame of the issue.

This is a huge reason I am a fan of reverts as a default first step. I want
to make sure you take the time to fully understand the issue, not burnout
by working past normal hours, not land a rushed fix that papers over the
real bug, etc. If we don't revert, then our progress is blocked, everyone
shares in the stress of trying to rush a fix, etc., and I'm not a fan of
that.

I would strongly suggest you follow up with clang folks to figure out why
