            Bug ID: 48995
           Summary: Failure to optimize certain redundant operations
                    around type conversions
           Product: libraries
           Version: trunk
          Hardware: PC
                OS: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: P
         Component: Scalar Optimizations
          Assignee: unassignedbugs at nondot.org
          Reporter: gabravier at gmail.com
                CC: llvm-bugs at lists.llvm.org

int32_t f(int64_t a, int b)
{
    return ~(int32_t)(~a >> b);
}

This can be optimized to `return a >> b;`. This transformation is done by GCC,
but not by LLVM.
