I am hoping @aganea or @mstorsjo can take a look at the COFF port and  @int3 or @ellishg can take a look at the Mach-O port.

I’m open to landing this now (this actually makes my life easier :) ) and addressing any further note adjustments for Mach-O/COFF in subsequent patches (from COFF/Mach-O maintainers).
