Yes, unfortunately I think it's important. It will be necessary to use the test suite on historical versions of libc++ for regression tracking. Older versions of the library will produce warnings and we need a way of turning them off. The same's true when running the test suite against e.g. libstdc++ for comparison purposes.

So, sadly, I think we need to keep this working.
