I feel like this PR is in a really bad spot right now. I no longer have confidence that the author understands the current change well enough to bring this PR into a mergeable state. The build is still failing, they are still pasting AI-written comments, and they did not update the PR body. On top of that, the current change is effectively the same as the initial code, just written differently. I do not feel like we are going to get this into a good state.

I withdraw my previous approval and will not continue reviewing this PR.
