A, yes! At least to me, `t_N` is easier to parse than `t_n`. Also, `N` (caps) feels more natural as a symbol to signify the rank of a multi-dim quantity (e.g. vector).

I am happy to move this to a dedicated PR - I'm just not sure it's worth the noise (I don't mind that much).
