Please document this hook. Also, the name is a bit misleading, this method doesn't really care _where_ the input came from (i.e. it doesn't have to be "accumulator"). How about:
* `@prepareAccTestData` -> `@splatTestData`. Or `@replicateDataVscaleTimes_i8`.
