[llvm-devmeeting] llvm-devmeeting Digest, Vol 44, Issue 1

It's already clear that GlobalISel is better in multiple dimensions: smaller, cleaner, more powerful, more maintainable, etc.

It's also clear that there is still a long road ahead, for example, reusing the existing TableGen tables to assist more.

What is not so clear is how to get from here to there.

Once GlobalISel goes from 95% to 100% for ARM64, is there a road map for other 64 bit popular targets such as x86-64, PowerPC-64, MIPS64, etc? Same question for 32 bit targets.

Thoughts?

Cordially,

Craig Franklin

In preparation for that, I’d love to hear about any specific topics you’d like us to cover. Please feel free to reply to this email or send an email to board at llvm.org if you have specific requests. Thanks!
