Seems we also have a tangentially related issue with zero length variables
too: https://bugs.llvm.org/show_bug.cgi?id=51848 fwiw. (will likely require
a distinct solution, so I don't think there's much overlap here in terms of
design/implementation - just conceptually related with some similar bugs in
user code that this can create)
