You can look up the details in the thread, but the short summary is that it was done via an automated script in a manner very similar to the Great LLDB Reformat a couple of years ago. Judging by the thread, there are downstream lld users, and while they encountered some hickups, it looks like the overall merge process has been relatively painless.

Yes, to confirm I only mentioned LLDB because it is “a larger than lld but smaller than clang” subproject, in terms of contributors. I don’t have a specific plan (and LLDB could well be the wrong next step!). I just continue to believe it would be a good thing for LLDB to align with the rest of the LLVM project in terms of style and conventions, and this seems like a good opportunity to do that.
