This is a good point. Unfortunately, Thursday evening is the technical program reception, and that might be a worse conflict. The Gala is scheduled for 7-9pm. Perhaps we could schedule the social to it only overlaps partially. I assume people who want to be at the Gala want to be there at the start? Last year we started the social at 6pm, so maybe that would work regardless? I'm open to suggestions.
