Just a thought: have you considered the interaction between the hacker's
lab at the LLVM developer's meeting and the creation of the branch? If
the hacker's lab adds lots of new code, then it might be better to
branch before the meeting. If the lab does lots of bug fixing, then it
may be better to branch after the meeting.
