[LLVMdev] error building clang

The latest in my problems building clang-only:

llvm[4]: Linking Debug+Asserts executable clang
/llvm/build/Debug+Asserts/lib/libclangLex.a: could not read symbols: File
format not recognized
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status

Any suggestions appreciated.
