That sounds really useful...unfortunately I wasn't able to get it to
./configure on OS X, it complained about not finding support for __thread
(I'm still running OS X 10.5 and apparently the version of gcc that I have
doesn't support this.) I might try building it on Linux, but I wanted to try
it on OS X since that's where I am having the most problems.
