Software Engineering Intern: Systems Technology Group

The Worldwide Studios System Technology Group is offering a paid 
Engineering Internship! 
 
Job Description: 
Be a part of the most exciting and innovative computer entertainment in 
North America. Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) markets the 
PlayStation® family of products and develops, publishes, markets, and 
distributes software for the PlayStation®3, and the PlayStation Portable 
(PSP™) computer entertainment systems. Based in Foster City, California, 
SCEA serves as headquarters for all North American operations and is a 
wholly owned subsidiary of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. 

Job Responsibilities: 
The STG Intern will work on a variety of projects for internal and 
external developers working with the PlayStation platforms.

Work on these projects may be directed, solo engineering efforts, or as 
part of a project team.

Example projects include: 
Contributing code to existing test harnesses.
Contributing code to PC based tools for PlayStation platforms.
Contributing code to the open source GNU binutils assembler and gold 
linker.
Contributing code to the open source LLVM compiler framework and Clang.

Skills Required: 
C, C++ proficiency
Excellent communication skills 
Bachelor in Computer Science (or in progress) 
Debugging techniques of concurrently programmed applications
Proficiency in one or more of the following areas a strong plus: 
Assembly programming
Multithreaded programming 
Multi-core programming 
Compiler optimizations
Compiler parsing and semantic analysis

Daily tasks can include: 
Research and follow changes in assigned software tools and technologies; 
Explore opportunities for use with SCEA technology. 

Partner with project teams to provide feedback and promote relationships.

This position is located in Foster City CA, and is open to both graduate 
and undergraduate students.
