At some point, I had this idea that we could roughly classify options into "debug functionality" (printing etc.), "optimization tunables" (thresholds, enable xyz, etc.), "migration toggles", and "other", for both grouping in help and strongly discouraging the addition of "other" options. We don't have to do this and certainly don't need to do this now, just an idea.
