Context: the whole change only works for physical addressing model and it won't work for logical addressing. I hope that SPIR-V backend somewhere later in the stack would reject the generated module with OpConvertPtrToU, but I don't know for sure. IF this won't happen - the expansion must by guarded with a check for physical addressing.
