Then, we can invoke this new transformation on the EVL path instead of simplifyRecipes.

If it would be possible to move the EVL-related simplifications out of the general simplifyRecipes and into a new transform we can run here once, I think that would be great, because it would simplify the general simplifyRecipes and move the EVL logic to exactly where it is needed
