Did I get the reason for using `sed` right: it should be possible to simply add separate copies of the test functions without `"branch-protection-pauth-lr"` attributes, but that would introduce a whole bunch of useless `COMPAT` and `V83A` check lines for these copies (even though it would collapse `PAUTHLR` and `NOPAUTHLR` into a hypothetical `V9A`)?
