Thanks for updates. Agreed, lets keep the patch as is and merged it.

I reviewed the latest set of patches (11e897deffa6aac23ac533cf83697a9bb8bf8456 - fd3642ad858e98c87b8d5c39153bc2532b90680c).

Looks good. Feel free to merge with this initial patch by EOD, or tomorrow, given @maksfb has no further comments.
