This does not look right. Why do we need to extract those bytes, again, only now as an unsigned, when we could still directly extract the same byte from the extracted signed value we used for comparison, or even from the original source word in the PRMT constructing the final value?
In addition to that, we could save one PRMT by using tree reduction, instead of constructing it sequentially, but it's less of a priority.
