Question: it would seem like the compile-time actually got a lot better (which is odd). Am I reading the data incorrectly? Shouldn't smaller numbers be better?

There may be some noise here so I'm going to try running the benchmarks a few more times to make sure they line up. I'm also going to add a statistic for noop stores.
