as i replied to Fredreic on the private e-mail (around a month ago) 
his approach doesn't seem to work correctly on the newly added test-case (although i assume i might be missing something),
at the same time i am ok to abandon this patch - probably the issue has been around for a while, hence probably it's not critical.
