We’re seeing this with configure+make builds. I haven’t tried cmake.
I don’t think we can leave the build broken like this until you get home. I’m sorry but I’m going to revert the entire sequence of patches that you committed this morning, at least back to the point where this failure was introduced.

Bob, out of interest is this a cmake build or an autotools build or both that is breaking? I use cmake normally and it is possible I missed something for autotools...
