Will someone be so kind as to tell me as to is what the status of the 
thumb2 code generation?  What assembler are people using to assemble the 
output?

I get numerous errors trying to compile with GNU binutils version:
   GNU assembler version 2.19.51 (arm-elf) using BFD version (GNU
   Binutils) 2.19.51.20090322
