Hi Daniel,

some extra data. I managed to reproduce this on another system as well, turns
out that the problem lies with gcc 4.1. I tried all of 4.1, 4.2 and 4.3 on the
same system, 4.2 and 4.3 did not show these errors. This was again on 32 bit
linux (that is, a 32bit chroot running on a 64bit kernel).

I haven't tried 4.1 on 64bit yet, so not sure if this is specific to 32bit.
