In the OpenCL SPIR working group, we are aimed at creating a generic portable
intermediate representation for OpenCL (or probably some other uses), based on
LLVM. We targeted LLVM 3.2 as foundation for SPIR, and we also got the SPIR
target triple and two new calling convention committed to the LLVM mainline and
hence to the 3.2 branch.
Due to some discussions at the LLVM developers’ conference, we decided to add
an additional target for 64 bit architectures. . It is committed already to the
main trunk, but we managed to commit it after the creation of the 3.2 branch.
It would be very important for us to get this patch committed to the 3.2 branch
too.
