We think "1" is the right answer.

[regehr at gamow tmp409]$ clang -O small.c -o small
[regehr at gamow tmp409]$ ./small
1
[regehr at gamow tmp409]$ clang -Os small.c -o small
[regehr at gamow tmp409]$ ./small
0
[regehr at gamow tmp409]$ clang -v
