Rather than make incremental improvements in the nightly test, we ought to just
replace it with a better test infrastructure. Its served us well but lacks some
critical features:

* ability to pick up formal tests done anytime, anywhere by anyone
* ability to query a test results database
* reliability of the information storage (flat files)
* maintainability of the list of tests
* output format flexibility
* properly scaled graphs
* etc., etc.,

Consequently, I'm making this bug resolved as a duplicate of bug 379. We should
ensure that when bug 379 is resolved, all the features described here are
included (or possibly the need for them goes away).
