This LGTM.  Disallowing ++/-- sidesteps the  most common way to bring in definite order of evaluation dependency, which we would rather not have to define if we can avoid it.  And erroring on multiple assign is acceptable.  That's also an argument for adding +=, -= to reduce typing.

If you are doing a really fancy expression, you ought to be using the expression parser anyway, where the rules have been defined for us by the language you are using.
