Thanks for the review! I would also like to hear what @jimingham would say about this.

`+=` and `-=` don't really add any complexity, it all comes from just `=` itself. Composite assignments just call the regular operator on top of the assignment, that's all. They don't even add any performance overhead, since the operator is just picked in a switch statement.
