Thanks for trying this out! It doesn't look *aweful* in my opinion (considering the code duplication that it prevents). I think the best thing to do here is to split the Clang changes out into a separate PR. That would also give you more visibility from the Clang maintainers. If you didn't want to have all those output parameters you could return a tuple or maybe even a helper structure that encapsulates all those arguments. Either way, I'm sure they'll be some useful feedback on the Clang PR
