+1. Here's what Claude suggests:

Minimal backport: just the speed_utils.h translation, plus the encode_speed/decode_speed calls in cfset{i,o}speed, cfget{i,o}speed, tcgetattr and tcsetattr. That fixes the actual bug in a few hundred lines with no unrelated changes.
