What I would say for this PR is that it would be helpful if there were more concise explanation, like git commit <sha1> copied these comments and didn't delete them from this header makes it easier to verify that we're not losing anything.  I use the text to guide me in the review.  It's especially helpful for days like today when I'm between appointments and on mobile. :)
