Hmm, had to force push the same commit a couple of times to the branch, as signing in and out of vscode's github feature seemed to desynch the fork's branch from the PR (or Github was just particularly slow in comparison to normal). It does seem to be resolved, but if you see noise from multiple force pushes I apologize profusely. 

The latest commit hopefully addresses the remainder of the review points @skatrak, sorry for missing a few in the original set they should also be incorporated now.
