Changes in the configuration (cmake vs. configure, debug vs. release,
static vs. dynamic) can make a lot of difference.

If I'm adding new files, I generally build cmake+debug+dynamic,
cmake+release+static and autoconf+release+static, just to be sure.

Right, that was a bit too much. If we can't remove those comments from
the arc commit, I suggest we stop using it for now.
