Did you really evaluate the patch?  I've jumped through several hoops 
already for no reason apparent to me, despite working in good faith and 
already spending a considerable amount of time on what should be a 
straight-forward fix.

It's not going to be satisfactory to only take one patch set or the 
other.  Both are problems that need to be fixed.

On one hand, I definitely appreciate the fact that you are the *ONLY* 
person that's shown interest in this, but this is getting frustrating 
for me.  If I jump through this latest hoop, can we *please* fast-track 
this to get committed?
