<p><font size="-1">A day ago I compiled the current master release,
8.0.1, in debug using the flag -DLLVM_ENABLE_LIBPFM=OFF that
corrected an error that may be related. Although how that would
carry over to the test-release process is not known.</font></p>

No doubt there may be more information of use but where it may be, what you may want, is not clear.
