I don't think we'll eliminate /proc from FreeBSD in the near term, but
it is definitely optional and other interfaces are strongly preferred.
I haven't had /proc mounted on my FreeBSD machines for several years.

Note though that FreeBSD's procfs has many differences compared with
Linux's, and even with /proc mounted I don't know if the tests under
discussion here will be usable. (We also have a Linux procfs module
that mirrors Linux's procfs, for use by the Linux ABI compat layer,
but that would be applicable only to running the asan tests with the
Linux runtime on FreeBSD.)
