Hm, that logic actually looks correct.  It also shows that your llvm-config --cxxflags  *should* contain -fno-rtti.

The fact that LLVM is no-rtti and doesn't advertise it via llvm-config is definitely a bug in llvm.

If this was a bug in an older version of llvm, we *can* work around it.  What version of LLVM is this on what distro?
If you document your setup I can run through and try to reproduce the issue.

I'm going to let this commit dangle out there a little longer for additional testing / feedback.
