More info. on the diagnostics that I missed in the log file:

could be 'built-in C++ operator!=(bool, bool)'
          or       'built-in C++ operator!=(llvm::MDNode *, llvm::MDNode *)'
          while trying to match the argument list '(llvm::DISubprogram, llvm::DISubprogram)'
