    When filing an issue, a `/branch` command in the initial issue message doesn't get handled - it needs to be written in a follow-up comment on the issue once the issue is opened.

The `/cherry-pick` command had the same limitation earlier, IIRC, but nowadays one can do `/cherry-pick` in the initial issue message as well. It would be good if `/branch` could work in the same way.
