<pre>The issue is found when building
<a href="https://github.com/ARM-software/arm-trusted-firmware">https://github.com/ARM-software/arm-trusted-firmware</a>
with
make PLAT=rk3328 CC=clang AR=llvm-ar OC=llvm-objcopy OD=llvm-objdump E=0 V=1
but it is easily reproduced with
echo '.asciz "" ""' | clang -x assembler-with-cpp -c -
The original code has a backslash and a new line between two non-empty srings.
The error reported is
error: unexpected token in '.asciz' directive</pre>
