<pre>clang-tidy has the InheritParentConfig option available but clang-format does
not.
This options allows to use another config file higher up in the hierarchy as a
base and add/override values.
I think it would be nice if clang-format would behave the same as clang-tidy on
this point, this would bring a new handy feature and uniformize clang based
tools (don't know if other tools could benefit from this)</pre>
