could be improved: <a href="https://godbolt.org/z/zqK1K7">https://godbolt.org/z/zqK1K7</a>.  I was wondering if we could
sink the zeroing of the return register after the asm statement, so that we're
avoiding a dead write along one of the branches?</pre>
