Thanks both for your responses - admittedly my knowledge of this is rather
limited but it seems like this is a deficiency if (even incorrectly) other
linkers manage to do this - as it stands LLD does not work at all on MIPS64 and
requires support from GNU binutils (and the added complexity that brings) when
other platforms can do entirely without binutils.
Granted 3rd party software might do strange things but LLVM building the LLVM
suite should probably at least work, no?
Can I get an "official" project ruling on this? ie; it's never going to work
and thats by design/policy decision (and thus the LLVM suite will never really
be viable for Linux/mips64), or whether its still still open to be resolved
properly?</pre>
